Stanford Hall - Saturday 2nd August 2008

4 of the UK's leading Professional Firework Companies

NEWS - January 2008

The event has changed slightly this year, in order to keep the competition as fair as possible, MLE Pyrotechnics, the organisers have decided to pull out of the competition, leaving the 3 teams to compete against each other for the title of Firework Champion 2008. MLE will then produce another large scale pyromusical display to close the event.

We have also invested heavily in ticket processing incorporating the latest state of the art management system to help us track and deal with your order in the best way possible.

In response to your valued feedback and as a result of the enormous sucess of the 2007 event, we have increased the number of toilets on site and doubled the number of staff on hand. We've increased the display budgets for each team and have lots more planned for the audience side including local food produce. Watch this space!

New format

3 of the UK's best firework companies competing against each other with a 10 minute firework display choreographed to music. The types of fireworks being used by the companies are quite different to the material available to the general public, each company can use category 4 fireworks - those that are for professional use only.

The event is the only one of its type in the UK where the audience have the capability to vote for the team they liked the most using their mobile phone - purely for fun. Texts will be charged at normal rates and a limit of 1 vote per number / SMS Identifer is in place. Each voting number receives a text back with the results.

"A SMS system commisioned specifically for the event, will allow the audience to get involved and vote for their favourite team. Unique real time updates will be given where available by our announcer Russ McClean." Trevor Golding, MLE

The guidelines have been simplified to make the event enjoyable for all involved.

1) 10 - 15 minutes of fireworks
2) Must be choreographed to music
3) General restrictions on material used to be agreed by all companies involved
4) Each team must be a professional firework company

"Stanford Hall, where Shakespeare's Avon flows gently through the Park, has been the home of the Cave family, ancestors of the present owner Nicholas Fothergill, since 1430.In the 1690s, Sir Roger Cave commissioned the Smiths of Warwick to pull down the old Manor House and build the present Hall, which is a fine example of their work and of the William and Mary period."
